I'm with you on this one, I'm not gonna accuse you of jealousy like the others, just because you're right. Madonna looks ridiculous. Most of the women want to look good, that's true, but not like this.

Madonna has retained alot of her fame by changing with the times yet being a trendsetter at the same time. You've got to admire that ... she's a good business woman that way. But, as good as she looks for her age and as much as I don't think women her age are ready for blue-rinses & support stockings just yet, she is pushing the envelope when it comes to mutton dressed as lamb. Sometimes she looks perfectly acceptible, but when she performs in a video wearing a near-flesh coloured leotard, that just ain't quite right. I just think back on how wonderfully elegant and lovely she looked during her Evita phase, and shortly thereafter & I think, what went wrong ...

Coz she's a celebrity and there is a myth that those people should ever stay glamourous.
But go have a look at the fingers, cosmetic chirurgy can not change them and they give a hint on how many new year eves people have celebrated.

She's so successful in promoting immorality that she thought she could be an icon for immortality..which we all know will never be. But let's be honest, she looks great for her age. Just too sad to think that those wrinkles would never stop crawling on her skin and her bones would get brittle as she grows older...oopps..matured.

I'm 52 and I try to look as young as I can without being the proverbial 'Mutton dressed as lamb' .
Is there a law that says I should perm my hair, wear sensible shoes, support tights and elasticated waitbands?
Is that what you will be doing?

As far as I know, many people (both women, men and others) are afraid of growing old. In her case, as she has to have a public image, it is important for her to look young, probably more for commercial reasons.
All in all, it is a person's own choice. It is just like many middle-aged people refusing to admit they need reading glasses.

Why do you think that she should dress like your granny? She is still quite attractive, in a tawdry sort of way, so she flaunts it. And it seems to work for her, since she could buy several small countries off of her earnings (based, from all evidence, on how attractive she is, not some mysterious "talent").
Cheers.

Madonna could be seen by a lot of people as being very self-centred and egotistic.
She has reinvented herself countless times and i think she finds it hard to take appraisal of herself from an outsiders viewpoint.

I don't think she's trying to look young, just to look good - and why shouldn't she? Women don't have to give-in to granny perms and shapeless clothes just because they've hit 48! Good for her, I say! She's a great example to all us women of how to go on expressing ourselves and enjoying life. Life doesn't just belong to the young you know, as you will hopefully one day discover.
