There is a new technique called threading. I have seen it at my local mall. It seems that they spin a thin threand over the hair and this gently pull the hair out. It did not seem that any of the clients were experiencing any pain.

depending on how sever, you could have a course of laser treatment, or, you could have the facial hair waxed, this will keep the hair fine and it will grow back over 3 weeks, you will probably have to have it every month. Laser is the best option in my opinion but probably too expensive for a 17 yr old .... try waxing... it is not as painful as it sounds!

I use this to do my eyebrows, maybe it will work for you. I love the results I get. And the best part is that this stuff is usually under 5 bucks.
