People in much more of hurry so they speak faster..hence take verbal shortcuts which change the words..then culture also takes words and uses them for other meanings than their definitions and then those slang words gets shortened and changed by being spoken over and over

Good question - and although my answer will probably illicit laughs from Prof. W. Anker from the university of languages. I reckon it is due to a number of things.
Mass media - accesibility to different culture, their words and languages.
Globalisation - The global village effect and needing to reduce language so it is understandavle throught the world.
Technolgy - why have the e and pe at the end odf olde and shoppe. Drooped as a time saving device.
Perhaps most importantly is the migration of people from place to place which certainly in the Western world has effected language.
Hope this makes sense
