However, the highest score by an England Batsman in a Test Match was made by SIR LEONARD HUTTON. He had scored344 runs in the 5th Test of Ashes Series 1938 at Kennington Oval, London which was played on 20, 22, 23 and 24th August 1938 against Australia facing 847 balls with the help of 35 fours.
