Running Win98SE, never had this problem with Gateway monitor but getting the error from time to time with MAG Innovision. I'm not sure if I need to adjust the settings or smack the damn monitor around to get it to work right. When the error happens the computer does NOT reboot, it stays running but the monitor displays the error and doesn't 'recover'. Not sure if it is even able to recover of it there is a way to fix it without rebooting. I'm a chick, I am not a techie .. any help would be greatly appreciated. The life you save may just be that of my monitor.

your graphics card refreshes at a certain number, measured in hz. check this by right clicking on desktop, and go into your graphics card settings. change your graphics card to output to the same as your monitors refresh rate, or vice versa.
