For organizing your music, I highly recommend iTunes. You will find it refreshingly easy to use, and there is an option to automattically store all your music in one folder per artist per album of that artist a subfolder (except for compilation CD's, who are sorted by album)

On the iTunes level, it's easy to browse your music, sorting by album, artist, genre, or creating playlists that follow smart rules.

you can find it on apple.com, and it's free
