Yes, twice - once with B.B. King opening, and once second-billed to Santana with opening act The Fabulous Thunderbirds - that show's final encore was a four-way jam on "Everybody's Everything with Carlos Santana, both Vaughan Brothers, and Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos (who happened to be backstage - this was in LA)

i love the crystal-sparkling high quality of his his studio albums. On a sturdy sound device, you may want to swear that he replaced into contained in the room with you. yet his stay performances contained so a lot more desirable means and severe taking area in. like the poster above me suggested, i'd not call something SRV performed as lame. i'm no longer a David Bowie fan, so i do not typically evaluate SRV's artwork on Bowie's album as a real account of SRV's musical creativity. back to the point, I delight in the stay performances as a lot because the studio variations. i imagine you hear the organic means of his taking area in once you hear to his stay performances. I considered the El Mocambo dvd many years back, it replaced my existence.

Oh man, yes I have. I was fortunate enough to actually book him (I was a concert promoter in a previous life) for a gig and it was truly incredible! A few months later he was gone. Just a horrible tragedy. I wish I would've gotten more of a chance to talk with him, but we only shared a few words about the gig.

No, but I know a few who did see him live. He made it look so easy. I know a certain Bramhall who can play just like him.
