They didn't inform their family members about their homosexuality and hence incidentally got married to each other through arranged marriage.

That would suck! Trying to keep your homosexuality secret and having secret dates and so on. And if you have kids, things get more complicated.

It was only recently that homosexuality and lesbianism became more opening talked about, and prior to modern times, lesbianism and homosexuality was seen as a crime, punishable by a jail sentense and in some cases, reasons for people to attack both gay and lesbian people. In the past, there are many instances where gay men and lesbian women have formed closed communities out of fear from the mainstream, and in many instances, "mock marriages" so that both a lesbian and a gay man could be protected from family and societal attack and oppression. Today, the relationship between gay men and lesbian women is become so imbedded into queer culture that is no longer matters teh sex of the person; and gay men and lesbian women have become like a chosen family for many people. With this in mind, there are many people who marry their friends for various reasons. There are sometimes instances where gay men marry straight women, and where (for child and perhaps immigration reasons) where a gay man and a lesbian woman choose to marry.
Arranged marriages however are usually still prevelent in certain cultures and many believe that these marriages, are just as likely to suceed as, non-arranged ones. There would probably be many people do disagree with this, however, look at the statistics on divorce and seperation and extra-marital affairs, and you may be dismayed. Whilst I could not support any one being forced to marry a person that they didnt know, I also cannot say I would have the right to enforce my educated Western values on other cultures traditions.
To answer the question, it depends on how well the man knows the woman, are they friends? Do you think they could become friends and comrades? If so, then marriage is just a piece of paper for protection reasons and sanctioned by state and the institution of the family.

If they are smart this could be the best of both worlds. They need to set some ground rules just so everyone is above board.

If you live in a culture where divorce is not ever going to be the answer, then simply go about your normal lives and present a united front when you need to for the parents.

Children will be expected but you can simply say that one is you is infertile, or if you do want children, you can arrange to do it by assisted insemination. Your doctor will explain this and assist you. If not, then find another who will.

Your alternative is to simply tell your families and divorce but frankly I don't see why. If you become involved in a same sex relationship then simply move them into the house.

Good luck.

I think that if you have an honest loving friendship, then it is no different to a lot of so called normal marriages! You can still have a life partner that you dont sleep with!

I could see problems if each found the love of their lives, and wanted a divorce though. But it depends on the reasons for the marriage in the first place.

The couple may be subject to ridicule and non acceptance of details of the marriage escaped, but thats no reason not to give it a shot if the reason for marriage is genuine, and there is love between the two parties!

I guess the main reason for doing this s to have children... so as long as the couple love each other, and love children there s no pb...(as long as the "sexual life" of the partners are not revealed early to the child...)

I never knew that gays could be married to lesbians... Coz if they are called gays/ lesbians in the first place, they won't get married to their opposite sex....

well I guess it depends on whether they like each other or not....sometimes a good friend can be better than a great lover...the best though is to get them alll in one person.
