unless they are really really talented and good, of which many of them today are not sadly, then people will believe that being famous would lead to hapiness, fame, money etc , of which is wrong. besides, don't they realise that by being that well known to everyone the media would be on their case, every day and night, 24/7. the next thing you know, they'd dig up some nasty history, ex school mates saying bad and ridiculous things about you in the press and the press would stick their noses in your private lives.

Because is seems an easy way to make quick money, without actually having to do any hard work!! Sit in a house for a few weeks or sleep with footballers and you'd get a couple a grand from a tabloid newspaper..............................................
Its shows what a sad state our society is in when schoolgirls would rather be a lap dancer than a doctor! Altho I have nothing against lap dancers esp. if they're doing it to fund their doctors studies!

Money, Fame, but the real reason is that they have no friend's so being famous gets them plastic friends who like them until they become non famous and then you get, "who......

They want to be remembered after they die! They are also so unhappy with the existance that they have ,they think being 'famous' will change that.
