If it was an answer to one of my questions, then yes I would because the people actually took the time to reply.

The person who asked question will definitely look at long answers, and that includes you, because you took your time to choose a best answer out of many answers.

If the answer is too long such that the height of the answer is more than twice of 768 pixels, I would definitely not read it. It is probably taken directly from Wikipedia.

No, unless the opening statement means something to the asker. Long answers exhibit the inefficiency of the answerer who is unable to answer a question to the point. It's just like beating about the bush.

If there is substance in the answer and it is knowledge and information for me i would love to read the long answer and definitely enjoy reading it and appreciate the author who has answered it .

90%, they don't. they read to many borring things, they are trying just to find an ideea, an answer, not to read. that's why sometimes they just search the shortest answers
