An ordinary Mosquito spray with a hand pump can be sprayed on all the walls and other places in the room and close it for 1 hour and you go out. All the insects including spiders will die from the power of the insecticide and then you open the windows and put fan to clear the strong smell once you enter inside the house.

I sympathise, I hate spiders too. They do come in more often this time of year, and they will come in the windows or any other gap they find. I used to avoid opening windows, but that just got silly and I love the fresh air on a sunny day.
My husband is good and will get rid of them for me. If I am alone, I have a crawling insect killer spray (I know I shouldn't, but I can't go near them to catch them, it's a phobia people!!). I use ant and crawling insect killer from Tescos, but it is not fast. You need to give it a good spray then run out the room and leave it to die, lol.
Alternatively, try hypnotherapy to cure yourself of the phobia, I tried it years ago and it really helped, I can now catch the small to middle sized ones and put them out, but the big leggy ones still give me panic attacks. I think my hypnotherapy wasn't a complete success because I didn't really *click* with her, especially when she kept calling me by the wrong name.
When I've got some spare cash I will try somone else. My sister's friend is a hypnotherapist. I might ask him.
Good luck :)

If it's as giant and death defying as the one in my bedroom at the moment, I would suggest a sub machine gun. If that doesn't work then perhaps book an appointment for the spider to attend therapy so it can come to terms with it's identity crisis and realise that it is not infact a small dog, although similar in size, and should get back out into the garden where it belongs and take it's extended family with it. If all else fails invest in a comfortable and luxurious sofa or a penthouse apartment in a very, very high building.

Simple answer is you can't! I have the same problem at the moment and am mortified to admit I had to squish a very large one which was trotting across my living room towards me last night. I hate killing them because I know the good they do, and that they are completely harmless, but I'm still terrified of them. THis one was moving so darn fast towards the shelter of my sofa that I had no time to fetch a glass. Plaese forgive me spid!
Unfortunately it's smack bang in the middle of what my Dad calls "spider season". I think it's their mating time and they come out of hiding in their droves. It should calm down towards the end of the month though, so hang on in there!

I watched How Clean is Your House last night and they said to stop spiders and insects coming into your house use a Citrene Solution wiped on the walls and a trail of salt outside. Sorry I don't know where to get it but try looking on the How Clean is your House website

It's the damp weather and I doubt whether you can stop them coming in. But you can buy a contraption called a spider catcher that can will do so without harming the spider. You can then put it out of the window.
I know that saying spiders will not harm you (least the ones we get in the UK should'nt), but really try to get them out of your mind. The worse case senario is that you fall asleep with your mouth open and you swallow one.
Bye xx

Don`t have any plants, eg ivy, growing on your house walls, they hide in there and it`s only a short hop to the nearest window then! You can put fly screens up at the windows, or improvise by taping a piece of net curtain tightly over the inside of the window, won`t look good but nothing can crawl through it...and maybe get a cat, mine used to pounce on spiders and eat them!

Encourage your neighbours to hang nylon string across their windows to simulate webbing and play loud buzzing noises from their living room. In this way the spiders will surely be fooled into moving next door for a fine feast!
