lol!
Katie Melua is not a manufactured artist who has done sweet FA!
She is a reputable Artist , who writes her own songs and music, She worked hard to achieve her status in a very special area of music, (blues, jazz) as for the X factor only idiots watch that show as there is nothing but idiots on it! Those kind of shows should be banned there the reason the air waves on the radio are filled with crap!
Considering Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell have the talent of a cow farting between them says it all to me...they probably wouldn't choose her as she wouldn't be the kind to wear tight provocative clothes with everything on show and be made up to look like a right slapper!

In answer to the question, would she get anywhere in X Factor - probably not, she shows individuality and an independence of mind. Whilst her music may not be to everyones taste, she at least has an unique voice and writes some of her own material, which is more than can be said for the wannabes and manufactured pap that X Factor turns up.

Well it seems the judges really don't care that much about the singing. Look at Sharon's behaviour as soon as a young bloke comes in and has a "bit of (****) style" she drools. And Simon does the same when a non fat pretty girl come in. So based on her look, I would say yes, she would go to Boot Camp at least. Based on her singing... no way. She is dead boring.

Mmmm I dont really like her style of music, but she has sold shedloads of CD's. But she wouldnt make it on the x factor as all they are looking for and packaging is another bland artist to make an album of crap covers in time for christmas, its all about making money selling albums for mums to do the ironing to!!!

I sincerely hope not or we would lose a genuinely tallented singer to the world of manufactured disposable pop and she is so worth more than that.

Oh for crying out loud, I would think she'd be told just how dreary, whiney and cr4p she is.
I really can't stand her drawl.

it depends if she flirted with Simon, begged Sharon, and put on an Irish accent.

..but if she just went on and did her stuff she'd probably be turned down.

she'd get through to the latter stages, but i feel the public would vote her off pretty quick.

but if she did win, would they "call off the search"?
