Don't get the wrong opinion about me - I seriously don't like criminals, even so-called "minor offenders". I've never been arrested and I enjoyed serving my jury duty.
I had some friends who were police.
I saw some of the novelty catalogs they got in the mail. These catalogs sold coffee mugs, tee shirts, etc. to my friends and other police.
Most of the slogans on the tee shirts were disgusting, frequently racist. The gist of the jokes was basically "there's a bunch of scum out there - let's go beat them up".
OK - so it was a catalog, but keep in mind that the catalogs wouldn't be in business if no on bought their products. Obviously there were plenty of cops who thought these motto's were funny and didn't mind showing them to their friends.
From hanging out with my former friends, I was able to witness just how much they enjoyed spoiling other people's lives. Arresting someone was a joke and a power trip for them. If they got to beat on someone, that was an added bonus. Most of their stories seemed to be one-upsmanship about who was the most macho.
I have met a few decent policemen, but not for a long time now. Most of them are just looking for an excuse to cause me some grief and thereby prove something to themselves or their shallow friends.
The few times I have ever wanted a cop to help me, they all adopted an attitude, and have in general been more harmful than helpful. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a minority and have to put up with the hassling.

I can't really say that I "hate" a group of any type of people in general, especially without having met each of them. Same goes for liking them. I will say, though, that my personaly experiences with them have not been pleasant. Not at all. I think that the majoriy of them are on power trips, and they abuse what power they were originally given - to enforce the law. Also to "serve and protect".
However, they seem to have gotten way to bold, and are more like gestapos, actively looking to put as many people in jail as possible. The only thing I've seen them serve, are warrants, and the only thing they seem to protect, is their own a*s. Even if that means silencing the person who would speak out against their tactics by using their now allowed, "Shoot to Kill" rule any time they "think their life is in danger". Well, they seem to say that a lot, and there is no arguement to the contrary because the person is usually shot dead. "A justifyable shooting" is usually the explaination to the public
They seem to think that they are above the law, and I guess they are because they literally get away with murder all the time with no consequences.
I don't much like any that I have had run-in's with. No

Don't hate em, don't like em. They try and control way too much(But then again that's politicians, law makers) and some are on a bs power trip and need a good kick in the face. Hate is a strong word because I've met the odd cop who is fairly reasonable as a person. Alot of them are goofs for sure! I don't think i'd ever call the cops myself unless I saw someone hurting kids or f'd up **** like that. I don't want or need their help but they act like we all need them and personally I don't. I dislike that about them as well.

I neither hate or like. They are useful but get on my nerves lately 'cos they are always hiding round a corner waiting to catch someone doing just a tad over their limit. My friend got fined £30 for driving in a bus lane early in the morning. Surely their efforts should be made else where ie rescuing some poor granny from being mugged.

Perhaps all of you - i.e. most of you - who have gone with the former point of view would like to spend just one day somewhere - say Brixton in the UK, or Harlem in the USA - where all of the police take a day off. You might JUST have a different point of view afterwards, assuming you survive.
Have any of you ever thought what a stupid attitude it is to put all police officers in one category? It is EXACTLY what racists do, and generally speaking we condemn them.
It is so worrying to see what a load of morons inhabit this planet.

I dislike them. I disagree with the personality of the majority. Shall I go into detail? They think everyone is always lieing since all day they deal with scum. They can be very arogant. Yale did a study showing who can and can't be a police officer the highlights include you have to be brainwashable personality and it showed results of higher IQs not being able to. Anyway when testosorone takes over hence forth.

I have known some that were scary but as a whole they treated me O.K. when I was polite with them (granted first). I have met Capt.Mets he had a street beat and he had to be one of the finest examples of an officer I have ever met.

i don't trust the cops. hate is such a waste of time even for cops. they lie most of the time. even if you haven't done anything they will think of a law they just made up to meet there quota. and i bet most go beyond the call of duty.
