"level of loudness" didn't fit on the button.

Level of loudness is not called Volume.
Volume is just a knob on the panel to
indicate that by rotating it to the right
or left, one may increase/decrease the sound
output level. The loudness
is called Decible out put.

It controls the volume of air displaced by diaphragm in side the speaker. The more volume louder is the sound. More energy is applied to the magnate in side the speaker more, the diaphragm get closer to the magnet displacing more volume of air at the speaker.

VOLUME means a certain AMOUNT...

So its the AMOUNT of noise that can be controlled coming out of the speakers.

i think it's because when you rotate to VOLUME nub, the sound fills the place, exactly the same way like filling a glass of water...it' goes for decreasing too...:)
