The amount of radiation is extremely low, and no studies to date have proven that it's harmful.

With that said, the further away you are from the screen, the better. Also, LCD monitors do NOT emit radiation.

the radiation levels are negligable ... the real pluses to TFT/LCD are power consumption since they use about 1/10 the wattage or less and are not susceptable to EM issues so they dont need to be degaussed... also, since TFT/LCD doesn;t use scan technology like a CRT, you dont have "screen flicker" issues when competing with flourescent lights. the power savings alone make it a cheaper buy over a year so it actually pays for itself many times over during its useful life
