Andrew N,
Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues on June 22, 1988, was selected by the Hornets in the expansion draft. As Bogues settled in Charlotte, he established himself as an exceptional passer and a great ball-stealer. His size also helped him to be one of the fastest players on the court.
Bogues spent ten years in Charlotte as the Hornets, led by Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson, became one of the most popular teams in the NBA and a perennial playoff contender. Charlotte Hornets jerseys were worn by children all over United States and even in Australia, and Bogues' jersey was right up there in popularity with Mourning's and Johnson's. Bogues was a popular player on a popular team, despite the fact that he never averaged more than 11.2 points per game in a season.
He is the smallest player in NBA history, standing 5'3" (1.60 m) and weighing 136 pounds (62 kg).
In 1996, Bogues managed to block a shot attempt by 7'0" (2.13 m) NBA center Patrick Ewing.
For his size, he was quite a player.

Well I am very surprised to read that Mugsey Bogues won a dunking contest then one year actually averaged 10 assists a game in only 33 minutes a game. One year he actually averaged 4.5 rebounds a game. From what I was reading about his stats he was a good point guard that had some defense.

At his best while in Charlotte, Muggsey averaged something like 10-11 ppg and played about 35 minutes per game. He had one of the very best assist to turnover ratios in the NBA and was regarded as one of the league's top set up man. Led the league in 99-2000 with a 5.07 turnover-to-assist ratio. He had two seasons where he averaged better than 10 assists per game and only once averaged more than 2 turnovers per game, which is incredible. Consider that Steve Nash turns the ball over 3.5 times a game to go with his 10 assists per game and perhaps you can get some perspective.
He was a solid defender, despite his lack of size. He was immensely strong and incredibly quick. He typically averaged between 1-2 steals per game. Shot a career average of about 46% from the field, which is very good for a point guard, and 82% from the line.

well if you're going to look only at his points-per-game average, then you can say he sucked. but considering his height and the way he plays, he is for me one of the best small guys to play in the NBA. he was a good passer and had at least 2 steals a game. try looking at his stats when he was in charlotte. i think he averaged 10 point a game there and played jis best on that team with alonzo mourning. oh yeah and he can dunk!

I think so... imagine the discipline it took to make it at his height. He handled the ball well, played good D and overall played well. I think it would be wrong not to consider him good.
