It's no big deal. Just staining, nothing serious. Try alternating a week of polish with two weeks of clearcoat.

It is possible that your not using a base coat and also using a red or brown based nail polish. I recommend that you purchase a 3 or 4 way buffer and buff away the yellow. If you are uncomfortable with this you can get a professional manicure. In order to avoid this in the future stay away from Toluene or Formaldehyde based nail polishes these chemicals tend to dry out your nails and turn them yellow. When manicuring your nails, use a good base coat. Stickey by Creative nail is excellent. Two coats of nail polish and a good top coat (such as Seche Vite, Poshe). There are two brands of nail polish that DO NOT contain the two chemicals and they are China Glaze and Zoya. In the years that I have been doing nails it really doesn't matter how long your nail polish stays on it's your color choice.
You can also try denture tablets to remove the stains from your nails. Sally's also carries a product called Bubble White. This removes the yellow stains too.
Good luck!!

There is nothing bad happening the polish is just staining your nails. Put on a clear coat first then the polish. Try some hard as nails that way your nails will be getting stronger and no more polish staining. You can find some stuff at wal-mart to get the yellow off.

Nails get yellowish because of the oxidation in your polish color. It's not bad. It's harmless. Just use a buffer to remove it. Next time, use a base coat before you apply nail polish.

Make sure to use a good basecoat before applying the polish.
There are nail brightening products on the market. Check your local beauty supply store. There is one called "Nail Brite".
For the record, nails do not breathe. Wearing polish doesn't keep them from breathing. Nails are dead tissue.

Yes, it's not healthy to your nails. They are stains.
They'll turn yellowish or even blackish. You must rest your nails once in a while from all chemicals.
