I would prefer a friend who is human .. due to the fact of true emotions, someone I can talk to with sincerity and one that will respond from the heart.

That depends on the level of intelligence of the robot...if they're as intelligent as me (or is it "I"..."robot"...:-)) then maybe I'd rather have a robot friend who could remember me forever and I (my beliefs) could live on vicariously (if I could convince he/she/it that I had good ideas).
Also I think I have good ideas that I think should be passed on through generations. (Though that's obvious, because if I didn't think that, I'd change my ideas INTO such ideas.)
Then again, I've yet to meet such a robot, so I'll stick with the human. We need other people anyway...there's probably something deeper that connects us to each other in important ways that science may (effectively) never discover.

it is a hard question.
people deceive, cheat, hurt, talk about eachother ...... do alot of bad thing.
a robot won't do these thing but is stupid and won't give me an opinion in a series problem in my life.
if i have to choose i would choose a robot as i take alot of decisions by myself and don't need someone to talk to but i will miss human friends too. (a very hard choice)
