Once in power a government protects itself. Look at the girl getting arrested for reading out the names of the dead in Iraq within the newly designated earshot of No 10.
And also I do not agree with foxhunting but I did object to armed and armoured police beating up protesters.
Regrettably in a so-called Democracy which is rapidly becoming a one party Dictatorship I can see no way of getting rid of 'New' Labour or the look alike Conservatives.

why should a potentially violent process be better than just not voting for them next time? You also assume that any replacement government by these means will be better. The chances are that the current situation ( Blair and Brown vying for leadership) will force an early election anyway. Plus there are local elections at the start of next year

'fraid that here in Britain, we are too apathetic to go in for revolutions, civil wars, and coup-d'etats. Most don't even bother to vote, then moan like hell! The many posters to your question reflect this -... "time to go to the pub, good game of footy on the box" ...
