The word “Success” by itself is too broad of a subject to pinpoint. Like the word “Truth,” it involves relationships with other things. Presumably, the question involves success in one’s life, but which aspect? If you nail down the relationship, then a specific answer is possible. If you are asking about monetary success, then it’s all about money, but if you’re talking about spiritual success, then it has nothing to do with money.

Define your question better, and you will get a better answer. This is because success concerns itself with the proper function of things, their purpose, and the correct interaction with, and use of things. We can discard the use of the word as a synonym for happiness, which is a Western reduction of an abstract concept to a sensual level. Even if you asked "What is the measuring stick of success?" you would still have to ask "In relation to what?" or "What purpose?"

To Have Succeeded

To laugh often and love much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
And the affection of children;
To earn the approbation of honest critics
And endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To give one’s self;
To leave the world a little better,
Whether by a healthy child,
A garden patch,
Or a redeemed social condition;
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm
And sung with exultation;
To know even one life has breathed easier
Because you have lived…
This is to have succeeded.

Success is defined differently to everyone. If you want financial success then save, save, save, hoard, hoard, hoard ! While others were out spending I was saving... at age 39 my money now makes money ! Why not have your money work hard so you don't have to!?

Also hitting a good stock at the right time helps jump start your savings so do your homework, research companies and pay yourself first so the money grows. If you put money away into an investment first thing each month and then you find yourself running short on money at the end of the month, you then need to work alittle harder. BUT NEVER touch what you have invested. This little formula will make your future bright. : )

Look at what you have to offer. Find what you are interested in and what the requirements are to advance in that field. Gain enough training to do what you want and then go forward with a plan. Recognize it takes time to get up the ladder and everyone has ups and downs. Never stop keeping up to date in your field and do not try and step on people to get ahead but do not let yourself be a stepping stool either. Those who get ahead find something they excel at and use that to advance. Training never stops and those who think they know it all end up in a corner office down the hall from the important ones.

Have confidence for starters, and do a lot of research on the things that you want to become successful at. Don't be afraid to do nice things for others and learn how to negotiate with people. Learn how to understand people and what motivates them. Learn interdependence. Become a volunteer or do an internship. Basically, spend a lot of time at the library. Oh yeah, find a mentor. I am looking for one too.

Success in life depends on what you value the most. You have to work and make sacrifices for anything that is worth having. If your goal is to be financially successful, then you will most likely sacrifice your time and maybe even your morals. But if your goal is to be successful in your family life, then you will also have to sacrifice time and maybe even money to keep them safe and happy. It all depends on what you call "success."

depends on how you define sucess.
some people see sucess as just being happy in life and having their own family. others see sucess as having a lot of money.
for the latter i recommend reading rich dad, poor dad by robert kiyosaki for some inspiration.

Always be positive...never lose hope...don't compare yourself with others...be clear about what you want...work hard towards it...at the same time don't think only about self-interests...spend time for your near and dear ones...success will be definitely yours...
