I work for a government agency involved in the testing of birds for bird flu, though that's not my area. Not heard anything in the UK for quite a while now. It will pop up again but I think we have the expertise and resources to deal with it.

Over the summer they were testing a few ducks that possibly had a part of the mutation (I think they were found in Texas), I think they were also testing in the North some swans that had died. Duck season starts in November. It is predicted that there may be signs of it in the fall winter as birds migrate. I am particularly interested in this subject as we raise chickens, and there are alot of other birds that fly in during the fall where we are.

Nope, that story's passed. I knew it would, but like SARS, Monkeypox, and whatever that other sickness was.
It was just hype. Less than 300 poeple died from it in 3 years' time. So what? 200,000+ people die every year from the normal flu (influenza.)
Good riddens. Now we can focus on more important things, like the new pictures of Suri Cruise...argh!

Yes but why would our media care about that. They've scared a lot of people, now they're looking for the next scare.
How they must enjoy putting so many people into a state of hysterical fear, and how much must some people enjoy to be scared, to fall for it time and again!

No, because those type of stories come in handy when the government want to take our attention away from something else going on in the news that they want to play down.
