It is sometimes alleged that everybody in London is gay. But "it's impossible to say exactly what percentage of London's population is gay or lesbian. A rough estimate made by the Gay to Z website on how many gay people live in London put the figure at approximately 5%, or 400,000 people in the Capital." http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/content/articles/2005/05/27/gay_london_feature.shtml
Gay rights activists sometimes try to claim that 10% of the general population is gay. The correct number is reliably said to be between 1 and 2%. But as Kinsey and later researchers have pointed out, it all depends how you define "gay": aside fromm active bisexuals many people have gay tendencies that they suppress; many are celibate or onanist.
So: who knows?
I live in London. My daughter, who is without a boyfriend, says that every otherwise eligible boy is gay. Maybe she's on to something.

Conventional "wisdom" is that about 4% of males and 2% of females are gay in all countries and cultures. I think this comes from studies where they flash images in front of a randomly selected sample of people and notice from brain reactions which images, if any, sexually arouse the subjects. So it's capable of being an underestimate if people have fully integrated a heterosexual "should" into their naturally gay psyche, a should that's been created by their nurture (social conditioning).
4% and 2% would mean about 140,000 male and 70,000 female gays in London. The number may be somewhat higher because (a) social heterosexism is less in London than elsewhere in the UK, so gay people may choose to migrate to London in order to be more accepted; and (b) some jobs that have an unusually high % of gays, such as in the entertainment industry (e.g. media, popular music) are highly concentrated in London. But I would be surprised if these factors take the numbers above 200,000 men and 100,000 women.
