You know, the problem here actually is not just about Islamic people who resent the U.S. Instead, it's about non-Americans in general. whether in the Third World or in social-democratic Europe. I take it as a fact that despite the admiration people have for the U.S., they also have mixed feelings and detest and resent and envy the U.S. That's the way it is actually. It's not just about Muslims. It's about the world outside the U.S. in general.
If you're American and are tired of people telling you that Islam is a peaceful religion, well, then I'd say you shouldn't focus on Islam. Instead, you should look at the non-U.S. world as a whole. The problem is not just the relationship (or lack thereof) between the U.S. and Muslims who resent the U.S. It's about the rest of the world also.

Religions (islam, christianity, etc.) are peaceful. Read the bible, koran or any other holy book and you will always find something you can (dis-)agree upon.
Unfortunately interpretation is depending on individuals. Thus when it come to execution of the holy book and rules it goes totally wrong.

I think it is more a form of goverment.
I used to not care about about Islam.
I think the peaceful Islam people should take back control of their religon....
