Tickets to a play or concert that you'll both enjoy. If that's too pricey, lottery tickets. One of the best presents I ever got from a lifelong friend was a small photo album with pics of us starting at my 3rd b-day party up thru my wedding at age 25.

jewellery is a good one, a silk scarf maybe, go look in Accessorise - there must be heaps of things that would fit in an envolope there, also sachets of face mask, intensive conditioner would be fun
