Clothes from a shop like Pineapple. My daughter turned eleven last month and her sister bought her a top. Although she's never been into clothes, she was delighted with something "grownup".
Easy postage, too.

What kind of books does she like? Why don't you buy her a book that she would enjoy Or you could get her a music score of her favourite composer or some riding kit if you can afford it.

the perfect backup gift for ANYONE is a gift certificate. if she loves books, get her one to her favorite bookstore OR actually take her out one day and let her chose 1 or 2 that she wants, and then get something to eat together. it's more personal than the gift certificate in the envelope.

Don't get her a token, that's just rubbish money...
Why not buy her a book that you really loved at that age, write in the book that you really loved it (...and why) and it will mean so much more to her.
