Squats and lunges will help with the rear area but spot reduction is never easy. If you have the time, walking is great but if you to increase your heart rate as well as widen your gait [the length of your step] to get any results in your rear area. Walking up steps two at a time is also a good thing that you can do at home but take your time when doing it, you want to push off with one foot and really feel it in your legs and butt. Don’t hold on to the railing or banister, that reduces the amount of work that your body has to do.

Lie on your stomach, with your legs slightly bent, lift each leg up from the back pressing on your buttocks a number of times for 3 to 5 minutes daily.
This will apply pressure on your buttocks and would also tone to shape.
