I only download from usenet groups, or trade with friends
You need a newsreader - Xnews(Windows), Thoth (Mac)
Just search for news groups with mp3 and binaries in their names. There are so many encompassing all genres.
Not totally free, but most ISPs provide newsreader access though retention times are far less than pay services.

if i were u, i wont download limewire because theres this dude and sent me some pics and when i opened it, i found a virus... after that i had 2 buy a new computer! its quite dangerous!
