Assuming you are a girl.... its all about nutrition and exercise. What what you eat and how much you eat. Exericse with weights on like a every other day basis and run like everyday for at least 20min. Make sure your heart rate is pumpin (but not like crazy fast) otherwise you arent doing enough. Oh and when you do weights dont just do your butt and legs... work the whole body and break up parts of your body to do on that specific day and alternate...

I'm 16 as well and I understand the pressures forced upon us girls by the media to look thin and pretty. You don't have to be thin and pretty, but you do have to be strong and healthy. If you establish a healthy lifestyle early in life you are more likely to maintain it throughout your entire life. In the end, preventing cardiovacular disease, stroke, diabetes, and other life-shortening illnesses. First you need to balance your diet. Watch your caloric and fat intake. Eat about 1,800 calories a day or 1,500 if you are obese. Eliminate junk food and other empty calories such as soda, candy, pasteries, chocolate, fried foods, fast-food, etc... Foods high in sugar such as these do not curb your appetite but make you hungrier, so in the end you actually end up eating more calories than you needed too. When eating carbohydrates stick to foods that are filling and give you lasting energy such as potatoes, vegetables, corn (even though it is a vegetable it is considered a starch), etc... For a quick burst of energy or as dessert, try fresh fruits like strawberries, apples, honeydew etc... For protein, eat lean poultry or fish, try to avoid red meat (at least while dieting, its higher in fat). Also try eating legumes and nuts for protein. For dairy, add it to main dishes... crumble cheese over a salad to give it flavor but eat it in moderation. Keep variety and color in your diet (make sure its not biege, meaning you're eating way too many carbs). Once you have your eating regime under control, you need to start an exercise plan. Your plan needs to consist of both weight training and cardio. Your cardio can be running, jogging, soccer, basketball, dance, etc... Find something you like and you will be able to stick to this regime better. When weight training, work your entire body so you stay proportioned. Dont be afraid of becoming big and bulky. This is not possible for women, because we do not have that muscle-building male hormone called testosterone. You will find that through weight lifting and cardio you will develop long, lean, and well defined muscle mass. Don't just stop your healthy lifestyle when you reach the weight you want, you must continue. Remember, having a healthy lifestyle is not a destination but a journey. So start your journey! Good Luck!

stop eating junk food and excercise. Thats it, forget fad diets and all that crap. If you are 16 you need to eat fruits and vegetables, cut out bad fats and sugars and excercise at least 1 hour of elevated heart rate per day. unless you are obese eat 1500 calories per day.

START OUT BY DRINKING MORE WATER--IT HELPS TO NOT ONLY HYDRATE YOU, BUT ALSO FLUSH TOXINS OUT OF YOUR BODY. EAT BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND DINNER! LOOK ON PACKAGES AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN TO FIND OUT ABOUT PORTIONS AND CALORIES. KEEP A LEDGER OF EVERYTHING YOU EAT INCLUDING THE AMOUNT AND THE CALORIES AND TOTAL THE CALORIES EVERY DAY. DISH UP YOUR FOOD ON SMALLER PLATES. TRY NOT TO GO OVER 13,000 CALORIES A DAY AND DON'T EAT AFTER 7:00 AT NIGHT. TAKE BRISK WALKS EVERY CHANCE YOU GET AND START AN EXERCISE PROGRAM--GOOD LUCK!
