I am as mad as a mongoose.
I constantly think about building pool and snooker halls for badgers and regularly pretend I'm a train by making choo choo noises, not turning up when I'm supposed to and providing my passengers with overpriced undercooked beverages.

Normal?
The word needs to be defined and then redefined again and again.
Sometimes there is a fine line between sane and insane.
Sometimes severe anger can be called madness or it could just be a temporary state of mind.
Example:
My mind's eye perceives the anger that O.J. Simpson had for a brief period, lasting about a minute or two, that made a complete maniac of him while butchering two people.
Then he gradually came back to "normalcy" although may have contemplated commiting suicide.
Later on, through coaxing of many of the best lawyers money can buy, he became somewhat of a sane person again.
A fine line, we sometimes cross it and most people who feel they never have probably never lived.
There isn't much of sanity around anymore that I can see.
We're spiraling down a path of gadgets and gimmicks, and all I can do is write about it to keep my sanity.

Everyone's mad! When it really comes down to it, how do you define 'normal'? There can't possibly be some universal template for sanity that psychiatrists work to. The human mind seems to delight in the ridiculous, the obscure and the impossible, it will take you on flights of absurd fancy, ponder pointless and unfathomable problems, and sometimes plumb the depths of some very dark places. We all journey with our imaginations occasionally to places where we feel bewildered. It happens to us all from time to time, and leaves us wondering whether we're truly mad. But because people never talk about it we tend to assume we're the only ones. We're not.
As long as your madness can exist within the parameters society considers acceptable, you can live out a long, happy and insane existence without ever having to really worry about it. Enjoy - and say hello to the voices for me next time they get in touch!

Worrying about being "mad" is the best possible evidence that you are not mad, people with a phycosis totally believe that their altered state of thinking is correct and true. Everything else is just worry about thoughts and as we know the "monkey" mind does what it likes, i came up with a plan - any strange thought i have i try and let them pass like leaves floating down a river, i try and let them not effect me, Then when i have a good healthy thought i try and embrace it fully. But yeah! most are mad to a degree, that's the whole point of being an individual. x

I spent a great deal of time worrying about whether I'm crazy or not. Even if you know you're not crazy, you know there's still a chance you might go crazy someday, so it kinda looms over you like a dark cloud. But then one day it hit me like a ton of monkeys, I AM crazy, and it made me feel so much better knowing that. Now I don't have to worry about it anymore, and it feels like a whole load has been taken off my shoulders.

you know you are not mad, when you still have some feelings that the thing you are getting mad at is just a poor thing...:)
and about the ideas of being missunderstood....UFFFF...it's way to common...so try to calm your self, and the more calm you are, the more people will understand you....even if it took them sometime....
take care//

It's not me, it's the others ;-)
But seriously, I have no real answer other than if such thoughts risk either hurting yourself or other people then there is a problem. Otherwise, all should be fine :-)
While I'm here, I was wondering if you, or anyone else who might be interested, help me achieve my plans for World Domination?

I believe madness is gauged by comparison.
Without using others as a reference how can we say someone is mad?
Therefore if the point of reference is flawed the conclusion must also be flawed.
We may be the saner than we imagine!

We all have weird and strange ideas from time to time, it is whether or not we act out on them whidch determines our sanity or lack thereof. I constantly think about winning the lottery, but I don't go out and buy a Rolls Royce. I think that perhaps you mean you love being unique.... Good question by the way, thanks.
