Excellent point. Remember though that China is not as trigger-happy as the US. They would only try that if they felt in extreme danger from the US. Nowadays, the USA is the greatest danger and threat to world peace in other countries - it is truly a monster gone berserk !!! America today is not following after ancient Greece - democracy - rather is imitating ancient Rome - military empire.

The point is that America today simply wants to dominate & control the whole world under its thumb. It's that simple!!!!!!

However I don't blame any country for feeling endangered by the US military-industrial machine. When you consider Iran & north Korea - they have DAMN GOOD REASONS to develop[ nuclear weapons - as a possible deterrent to American aggression against their countries. Force and military power are the only factors which the USA respects overseas. So the USA today is like the neighborhood bully or "tough guy" who scares & intimidates weaker countries by threats of war and military action against them - if they don't do what USA wants.

Again I repeat that America today does not imitate ancient Greece/democracy rather it imitates ancient ROME - military empire. Just look what they did to Iraq - they raped that country and killed over 100,000 Iraqi civilians, and caused so much suffering & destruction against innocent Iraqi people who did no hostile actions agains USA AT ANY TIME. You see: when countries develop nuclear weapons today - it is from FEAR of the USA attacking them - which motivates their weapons programs. The USA is like a vicious pit-bull or monster animal - growling and ready to attack anyone & anywhere it feels like.

Unlike an above user, I WOULDN'T like for that to happen, since I live on the West Coast. That wouldn't be too good for us over here.

China wouldn't do that, because while there's political tensions between the two countries, there's also a lot of trade and international business (companies moving to China.)

There are much bigger threats to the world as a whole, especially the U.S. and China, that there would be no reason for them to attack us. Also, two of the biggest and most powerful militaries are located in the U.S. and China. There would be no winner; instead, everybody on the planet would die.

No.

To begin, while China may openly see the US as a threat, it doesn't have the hardware resources to make that a reality.

2nd; They know any retaliation by the US could be so overwhelming and devastating as to be absolute. The entire country (China) would be sent back into the stone age. We may have destroyed our Minute Man class rockets of the cold war days, but we have different, newer and highly sophisticated technology avail, we could literally pick and choose targets at will.

3rd; The economic costs would be extremely high for China.

4th; Politically speaking, while around the world (and even within our country) there is much hate for the US politicals, learned ppl also understand our motto "Don't Tread On Me" is an attitude we will certainly revert to in response to any attack on our homeland soil. And I refer you, again, back to #2 above.

We are, in effect, the biggest, baddest bear in the woods, and the whole world knows it. But, like a big bear, we're only doing what is necessary, not what we are truly capable of.

China will not attack the USA militarily and they are fighting the USA economically.Look a USA china war will devastate both countries south east Asia .neither wants it Only Islamic and rouge states like North Korea,Cuba ,Venezuela will oppose the USA like they do the threat comes from Islamic terrorists and states like Iran who prefer suicidal warfare ie fight wars which they cannot win.china after 1979 is intelligent with its economic reforms it has a population of more than 800 million below poverty which it will need another 50 years to bring them particurly the rural poor out of it .War with USA is the last thing in there mind

the U. S. authorities at the moment holds the area, after listening to North Korea and their state-run media, that missiles will be fired at "any time." plausible aims contain surrounding waters, South Korea, Japan, and particular islands (really ones of disputed possession). although, it truly is actually believed by technique of U.S.-allied governments, with close to 100% self belief, that North Korea does have the means to effectively hit the U.S. position of beginning with any missiles. For the most acceptable coverage of the North Korea problem, I fairly advise CNN or CNN international.

I don't think so. USA bombed IRAQ to gain control over OIL only, IRAQ was not a threat at all.

No. It would cost them too much. We may not be "allied" with China, but we at least have a neutral relationship. Now, if Russia joined against us, then yes, they probably would.

Just a little more complicated than that, their first course of action would probably to attack Taiwan, and any other US military presence in Asia before even contemplating attacking the US directly.
