why do people abuse animals it is so sad and hurts me to see or even know that it is happening?

it hurts me too. i have an aunt who rescues abused and neglected animals, and it makes me sad knowing there's ppl out there who would be so cruel to do such a thing to such beautiful creatures.

Whenever I see animal abuse I hurt inside, it leaves me heartbroken. I will probably never understand why they do this.

I believe though, that it may have to do with the lack of understanding. Everyone is different. Sometimes I forget to turn my light off before I leave the house, or to zip up my fly,(whatever) because I don't care for these things, they aren't anything important to me.

To animal abusers, they may see animals as nothing important, nothing fuffilling in their lives so they just treat it like dirt, or something else they walk all over on.

I won't and will never want to understand what makes them think animals are emotionaless and so on. It's disturbing. What hurts me more, is when they get a kick out of it.

Because they can't do anything about it, they are helpless and since animals love their owners they stay because that is who they know they don't know any difference. It's very sad and wrong. The worse thing about it is that the abuser get only a small fine or a little time in jail. They should be treated like everyone else who abuses humans.

I don't know. It disgusts me too. Actually all abuse disgusts me, but I have to say the most sickening abuse, is abuse of the truly helpless (animals, children and the old and infirm). If someone is found to be abusing any of the above they should be locked up for life....someone that does this has no place in the free world!

because it makes them feel power ,its usually someone who is very weak minded that does these sort of things ,its a feeling for them that makes them feel in control of at least something in there misserable little lives ,sometimes they do this to gey back at someone ,because they know that if they were to have a go at a dertain person this person will retaliate ,as i said these people are weak ,so what they do is hurt what you love the most to hurt you in a round about way ,
but then that brings you to the mentally ill ,they,,not all ,will hurt animals,one because they are curious to see what happens if you do this or do that ,as they may be still very young and untrainned in their minds ,or two because they just have a spitfull nature anyway but feel like hurting people ,but are affraid of people so they take their agression out on the poor inocent animal,
i strongly believe that anyone who does this has some form or either mental illness or and exstreamly violent upbringing,
but this does not ever exsquess the behaviour,ill or not its got to be delt with ,
if i knew how to put a stop to it all i would ,but im affraid most of this goes on behind closed doors ,and with out the odd nosey neighbour,many of them would still be suffering.
all any of us can do is keep an eye out ,and report any feeling or abuse,,its a terrible shame i know,and it makes me feel so sad just thinking about it ,

i can't stand the subject either. sometimes when i look at all my spoilt pets I feel so happy they have a safe loving home,
But i also think about all the abuse that goes on in this world and know i can't stop the behaviour of these hurtful, unloving ,cruel people.

Most of my pets have come from bad environments. i feel so loved by them and I love them back. animals are so good to have around I wish everyone could see that.

Because they are sick, no other word for it, just the same for people who abuse children, they are cowards picking on the small and innocent that can't defend themselves, they wouldn't have the guts to pick on someone their own size, so they go after the small and weak. They are despicable scum, there is no place in society for these creeps.

How many answers did you expect? I hope none. If you are part of this society, you are 'abusing' animals. We eat them, lock them up for there 'produckts' we keep them for our personal fun.

Oh, don't worry I am fully aware there is worse but there is a thin line. Let me put it this way; "No matter how good you treat your slaves, they are still slaves."
