Each Chinese sign is broken down into 4 or 5 others. For example I am a snake, but I'm a Water Snake which is different from the fire or earth snake. Neil Sommerville writes a Chinese Horoscope 200_ every year. The discription of me is right on!!!!!!! I found mine at Waldenbooks. If you are near a bookstore read what it says about YOUR particular sign. You'll be surprised?

Astology is a pseudoscience; primarily because it is not as dynamic. Real sciences, such as physics or biology, are able to accept "theories" as ideas of what is going on, but are open to new theories (classical mechanics, theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, reclassification of life forms, evolution, newly discovered species, etc.).
Often times pseudosciences thrive on being intentionally vague and universally applicable in addition to human misjudgement of probabilities. One may believe that it is impossible to have a dream that is relevant to events that take place in the day that you awake from the dream, but in fact, with reasonable assumptions the probability of this happening in one particular year can be said to be around .1 (once every ten years). This does not even take into consideration that your dreams may be influenced by significant or repeating events that take place in your recent life.
All hope, however, is far from lost. Alchemy is a pseudoscience just like astrology, but that did not stop chemistry from evolving as a science. Perhaps one day an astrological based science will emerge. One study lead to a compelling theory that the positions of the planets in the solar system changes magnetic fields that in turn affects when you are born. This was suggested by data that people born in certain months were predisposed to being certain professions or having certain lifestyles.
As for chinese astrology, my opinion is that the traits that they apply to different years of birth are traits that nearly all humans experience to varying degrees. In other words, most likely, at least one trait of each set of traits describes you from someones point of view. So it is a matter of vague prophecies and human suggestibility; we want to believe that astrology is true, and consider coincidences unlikely. It makes life more interesting.
But who really cares anyways? It's fun to see if it applies to you.

Astrology is related to probability.
When the probability ratio is higher.....it appears to you that astrology is true.
Infact....Astrology is nonsense.
It is just like predicting a man that totay he will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, he may take bath in a cool water, he may sneeze today....just like that.
He has to do any thing mentioned in the above list on any particular day.
It is a work of probability......bullshit
