19:55 is also 7:55 so the minute hand is at 11 and the hour hand is between 7 and 8
one rotation is 360 degrees, there are 12 digits in a clock
so 360 degrees/12=30 degrees

11-7=4
4*30 degrees = 120 degrees

but then the hour hand is in between 7 and 8
so you have to compute for the angle that you have to subtract from 120 degrees:

for every 60 movements of the minute hand there are 5 movements of the hour hand then

so how far will the hour hand go if the minute hand has already move for 55 times?

55 is to:
55/12

then multiply this for the number of degrees for each movement that is 6 then it would be 27.5 degrees

now, this is distance of the hour hand from 7 so you have to subtract it from 120 degrees:

120 degrees-27.5 degrees= 92.5 degrees

NOTE: If you would encounter a problem like this again, all you have to do is get the distance of the hour hand from the minute hand then multiply it by 30 degrees. It would be your x.
Divide the minute no. by 2
Add this to x if the hour no. is greater than the minute no.
Subtract this from x if the hour no. is less than the minute no.

Ex.
1.) 19:55=7:55
55 is no. 11
11-7=4
4*30=120=x

55/2=27.5
7(hour no.) is less than 11(minute no.)
so...

120-27.5=92.5 degrees

2.) 5:20
20 is 4
5-4=1
1*30=30=x

20/2=10
5 is greater then 4

so...
30+10=40 degrees

If it's a 12 hours analog clock

So, the 19:55 is actually 7:55 in the evening.

The hour hand covers 360 degree in 12 hours
So, in 7 hours it covers, [7 *(360/12)] = 210 degree

Similarly, the minute hand covers 360 degree in 60 mins
So, in 55 mins it covers [55 * (360/60)] = 330 degree

So, the difference between them is, 120 degree

Here it's a 24 hours analog clock
Hour hand covers, [19 * (360/24)] = 285
Minute hand covers, 330 degree (remains same as in 12 hours clock)
So, the difference between them, 45 degree

Compare to 12 o'clock:
long hand: 360 x 7/12 degrees = 210 degrees.
short one: 360 x 55/60 = 330 degrees.
The answer is the difference: 120 degrees.

Since you specified 19:55 instead of 7:55 I assume you are speaking of a 24-hour clock.

position of the minute hand is 360*55/60 = 330 deg.
position of the hour hand is 360*(19+55/60)/24 = 298.75 deg.
The angle between them is 330-298.75 = 31.25 deg.

If you are talking about a 12-hour clock,
position of the hour hand = 360*(7+55/60)/12 = 237.5 deg.
angle between hands = 92.5 deg.
