If socks are white and really grubby you might want to scrub them by hand and then soak them in a bleach solution before washing them. To keep them from tangling in the rest of the clothes, put all the socks in a plastic mesh bag for washing. If socks are especially dirty wash them separately to avoid making the rest of the clothes dirtier.
I hope this helps.

to keep my socks white, i soak them in a solution of oxy clean and hot water for about an hour and then i wash them in the washer with laundry soap. Keeps my socks white and without the holes that bleach can cause.

If your asking what is the best way to get them clean, some say to turn them inside out so that the soiled part rubs together. But it they really have alot of dirt and mud on them, I'd suggest cold water and maybe add some hydrogen peroxide to the water.Peroxide gets out ALOT of stains.Especially Blood.
