perhaps mouth guard would help with the nasal mask to keep your mouth closed. I am happy with full face mask and no mouth guard. That was my opinion. There are medical people that feel that the mouth guard is an important device for us with sleep apnea.Below in the sources are the positive feelings for the nose guard.

I do not believe that a mouth guard will help you with sleep apnea. If you know you have this disorder, then you should look into getting a sleep study done. You will spend a night or afternoon inpatient and be monitored by electrodes, and oxygen meter and other possible devices that will record how much time you spend in each sleep stage and how many times you hold your breath and for how long a period of time. It sounds a little intimidating, but really is worth the time, especially if you experience daytime sleepiness, which most likely you would if you have sleep apnea. What is actually happening is that you are waking up, and it can happen several hundreds of times a night. This means your sleep cycles are very messed up. try to find a sleep lab and call them and ask questions, then take it from there.
Good luck!
