for me rock n roll is a memory of my youth
todays rock n roll is ok, but it isn't anything compared to bill haley, chuck berry and the others of those days

Rock n' roll has swagger if you know what I mean. It has a sense of Independence and freedom as well as an intimacy to it. It has in almost all cases emotion or attitude in it's rhythms and beats. It doesn't really have rules to it's meaning, but good rock n' roll is always down to earth and never fake. The grittiness and realness of rock have made it what it is!

Rock n roll to me means 1950's, when music was fun and alive. Music to jive to. Bill Haley, Little Richard Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis etc. Pure fun, not heavy lyrics to think too much about. Rock n roll/jive the best music/dance ever,......in my opinion :-)

It's Chuck Berry duck walking across a stage...Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner early in the morning at Woodstock, Joey Ramone counting "one, two, tree, four" to every two minute classic at the Marquee club, Wayne Kramer and MC5 kicking out the jams, Cobain doing "The Man Who Sold The World" unplugged. It's noise, rebellion, fun and I miss it!

it means that there is more to life than office work and paying bills. rock n roll is a statement of freedom and inhibition rather than specific music.
