I was in an emergency room being treated
for a severe cat bite, and watched the news
in the waiting room, with a few other shocked people.

I don't know about every singer who showed his or her feelings about that day through his or her craft...but I do know of several who donated all proceds to the 9/11 Fund, and I saw Alan Jackson refuse to accept an award for this song. We do what we can do. I felt guilty because I had no money to send. I can't even give blood, because of a medical condition. I don't know about ya'll, but I'm certainly not going to put down an artist for doing what they do best.

I was getting ready for work, walking thru my living room, when I thought WHAT IN THE WORLD?? at what CNN was showing. I thought it was a science fiction movie trailer or something, but the anchors were talking about it seriously so I sat down. My husband worked 3rd shift at the time, and I never woke him for anything while he slept, but this time, I got him up, and we watched for most of the day, incredulous.

Coming home with my mom from driving my sister to her school.

We were listening to it on the radio.

I honestly had no idea how huge it really was.

I was 13 and i just was so dazed out. Kind of seemed surreal. I didn't get how huge it was. But now when i think about it... I'm just like "wow". That was a crazy day. Absolutely insane.

Millions of people die every day all around the world.
And i guess this event was so significant because it happened in the United States of America.
Nobody expected it.

I still can't believe it in a way.
I loved NYC and i remember walking past those two buildings with my dad when i was about 12.
I loved them.

And now, i feel nostalgic and sad.

It was devastating.

I was at work taking a disability claim from someone. Kept hearing bits and pieces about a plane crash and then another and then another! I could see coworkers crying and had to take a break to find out what was going on. Pretty hard to concentrate after that tho. They closed our office that day around noon.

Like sexychik noted, the skies were so quiet after that. I went to the beach where you would normally see the paths of several jets all at once - and nothing! It was all very sad and lonely.

well, I was driving to work, listening to the radio. At that point, they didn't know exactly what had happened, and thought it was still some sort of terrible accident. By the time I got to work, the 2nd plane hit. We turned on the TV and were riveted for hours. You know what I will never, ever forget? The eery silence that followed for hours when all the planes were grounded. At my work, we used to go outside and smoke. We were in the flight path of the airport, so you could constantly hear the planes. For hours there was no movement. It seemed so unreal.

It was already noon in California when I heard about it on the radio. I didn't understand what they were talking about at first, and I had to get to work. (I worked late hours then.) I yelled at my sister to watch TV because there was a national emergency going on. She was sick and staying in her room listening to music, so she didn't realize anything was going on, either. That day where I worked, televisions were on in different offices all day and night so we could hear the reports. It actually was many hours before the news reporters could make sense of everything, and they wasted a lot of time repeating themselves for lack of real information.

I was dozing on the couch in front of the tv after working night shift. I happened to open my eyes in time to see the plane hit the second World Trade Center Building in real time! Diane Saywer and Charlie Gibson were on . I will never forget that moment!

When the attacks actually took place? I was asleep (west coast time zone) I found right before I left for school.

I didn't like the song very much... I'm not a fan of country music... or jesus.
