a better and cool way? you're talking abouty a job right? The world only revolves because of money...if this person is taking a better job or position....be excited for them. They will always remember the ones that were nice to them when they left. Stay in contact and go to lunch with them to keep up a friendship. It'll be worth it in the long run when you yourself decide to leave.

Not everyone is designed to stay at a job from beginning to end and drawing a 40-year pension from the company.

My colleague said this to me when i was leaving my job to pursue my doctoral studies - " It's really difficult not having you around. we'll certainly miss you during our brainstorming sessions, because u were one of the few who had it in them. At the same time I'm really happy for u because u have always wanted to do ur doctoral study. I'd be really proud if i see u some day in one of those newspapers or telechanels, recieving an award for one of ur works!! Keep in touch, Goodbye!!" I feel it is the best way.
