The team in first place traded away Jeff Kent, Curt Schilling and Carlos Zambrano and in return they got back Chris Capuano, Dontrelle Willis and Michael Cuddyer.

The team in 2nd place had cut the lead from 500 points to under 140 points in the last month or so.

Do you think this trade is SOOOO lopsided it demands to be vetoed?

I guess the idea of lopsided is in that for THIS SEASON first place trades away 3 dinged up players for 3 healthy ones.

This trade doesn't seem lopsided enough to demand a veto. At first sight I though the dude in first place was giving up too much, but Kent and Schilling are getting injured a lot now that they're late in their careers and this will probably continue. I like Capuono but I don't like Willis at all because he's very inconsistent. Cuddyer is very valuable because he can play so many positions.

Here's a system that I just came up with right now to compare the value of the trade. Let's see if this makes any sense. Apply a value from 1 (low) to 10 (high) to each member of this trade. Sum up the numbers and then see if from a mathematical standpoint the trade seems fair. Here's my opinion:

Kent 6, Schilling 8, Zambrano 9 = 23
Capuono 8, Willis 6, Cuddyer 8 = 22

Trading 23 for 22 seems fair. I'm of the belief that you should only veto a trade if it's totally unbalanced, and I don't think that's the case here.

He's in first place? He sounds dumb.
