A Christian is a person who loves Christ and tries to follow in his way by being a good and caring person. It has nothing to do with what people do in their beds.
The bible talks against homosexuals because the world in the olden days was in dire need of more births (go forth and multiply) and therefore the reason people got married was really to procreate.
Today we are living in the 21st century. Things have changed drastically. So to my mind the answer can and must be YES OF COURSE a gay person can be a Christian.

Where does the bible talk against homosexuals?
Christians interpret the bible as saying things against homosexuals, but the concept of homosexuality wasn't in vented until the 19th century so how can the bible talk against it?

Ho can so called Christians call themselves Christians when Jesus taught to love not to hate?
I often see the use of religion is over used to try show hate that exist because one is gay.
There are more sins in the Bible not just homosexuality how many of these sins have good Christians committed?

I am a gay Christian. I came out as gay in 2005 and was forced to resign as a member of my church after 20 years. At a special members meeting I was allowed to show that the Bible does not oppose homosexuality after the minister had spoken on how it does. I used more or less the same passages from the Bible to show that it does not.
Sodom and Gomorrah Genesis chapters 18 and 19
This is attempted homosexual rape, and just as an act of heterosexual rape does not make heterosexuality wrong so an act of homosexual rape does not make homosexuality wrong.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Leviticus 18:22 and other such passages.
Taken in context this law refers to the practise of men sleeping with male temple prostitutes as part of pagan worship. Thus is about worshipping false gods.
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. Romans 1:27
This also refers to the same practise to men sleeping with male temple prostitutes.
When taken as a whole there is no basic Bible teaching against gay relationships and it is very hard to find passages like the ones above. Churches are finding isolated verses and using them to condemn something they are afraid of.

I don't know it is outside my experience although the bible says nothing about homosexuals it talk about two specific acts. Not homosexuality just the acts of anal sex and effeminate behavior. These are the only things mentioned in the bible this is why I am g0y. G0ys are guys into other guys but not in to anal sex or effeminate behavior. We luv our buds like life itself and would never disrespect him by buttphucking him. We think anal sex is wrong for everyone not just men and men but men and women as well. The anus is not a sexual organ. It is a vector for disease and it is not healthy. Would you make love to a sewer pipe? lets say you have a barrel of the finest wine, now put a drop of crap in it is it still fine wine or is it now crap? Would you drink it?
In the bible loving sexual relations are not ever condemned. Lust however is. G0ys follow biblical guidelines in their male to male relationships. A covenant is formed between two guys who love on each other. They will not disrespect their buds they will stand by them and be there for them no matter what. Many g0y are married or have sexual relationships with women. We see the two as totally separate entities. The relationship with a woman is something very different from that with a man because penetration is involved in the male/female relationship. Not so with the male on male relationship. We see it as no different than masturbation. We are just helping our buds relieve their sexual needs while he helps us do the same, nothing wrong with that.
I am g0y and a Christian and I am unashamed.

the bible actually says more supportive and encouraging things about the intergendered than to the contrary, the problem is that homophobia and sexism are as old as human history. doesn't it make sense that if women are going to be discriminated against that gay men and gay women would be that much worse off in a society.... try actually READING your bible before you claim these great generalizations of what it 'talks against' Matthew 19, Isaiah 54, the story of David and Johnathan, the whole book of Daniel basically... etc...

No idea, all I know is I'm a puff and a good person who harms nobody. I've prayed every day since I was about 6,I even prayed to be straight when I was younger, didn't work. Glad I'm not now. However lots of good things happen to me which makes ME believe, God loves me otherwise I would never have survived my dodgy past. And believe me it was Sooooo Dodgy inadvertently putting myself in the most dangerous situations and coming out smiling. Renting round the Dilly when murders lurked the streets. It is said God gives you choice, I had no choice regarding my sexuality, was my choice either have sex or not, I'm not a priest, I'm a man. It would be unfair to test some on this and not others.

A gay person can be a Christian, in the same way as someone who smokes or drinks alcohol regularly can be a christian. It's all to do with interperatation and if your going to be Christian you don't have to accept EVERY different fact in it. I know I don't, as the bible was very belittling to Women!

Sodom and Gomorrah were about rape and greed ,not homosexuality.Plus all the stories of homosexuality in the bible are all positive.Back then they did not know what homosexuals are.They thought we were all heterosexuals.Homosexuality didn't become known til the 1900s.So you can be gay and a christian because god isn't against homosexuals.God makes no mistakes and he loves all his children.

Why cant Gay people believe in God and why cant they be a christian. Just because they are Gay, how can a God who is not supposed to be judge mental exclude them from Christianity? They are also human beings and they also have rights. Just because the bible says it is wrong does not mean it is wrong, I think gay people can decide for themselves. I suppose murderers, rapists and pshycos can be christian just as long as they aren't gay. How narrow minded some people can be!
