I'm 27 years old. When I say "older people" I mean anyone 20 and up who looks down on younger people as "immature". Funny: when we were younger, we hated all the yabbering and discipline our parents gave us; but we "grow up" and seem like we can't breathe unless we're dishing it out to younger people. If adults really are as smart as they always claim, as wise and knowledgeable as they state, then why is our world so torn? Why is our government, run by adults, so corrupt? Why is it hard for adults to remember (in all their wisdom) that they themselves hated (when they were young) the very thing they're dishing out to the youth? Why are adults using the same chastising, hurtful, shaming, angry words to coerce younger people to do what ADULTS want, not really what's right for them? If scolding (etc.) never worked, then it never will work. Moral (etc.) collapse of this country started with adults; if anyone needs to change, it is adults since they claim to know better.

The older people get, generally speaking, they start to feel as if they know everything and they start to close their minds to new ideas and thoughts. They start to think they know what's best or what is right or true. They get stubborn. When a person stops learning new things they start to get trapped in their ways.

People should always keep an open mind instead of acting like they know what is "right." The thing about young people is that they know that they still have a lot to learn so they keep their minds open to new ideas and thoughts. If "old" people would just admit that they don't know everything then maybe our country would be run by people who are more understanding and compassionate.

I'll just start at 8years old and up. One learns about the world around them exactly how. What is acceptable and what isn't? It is human nature to be hurtful to introduce younger people to what can be dangerous to them. To be kind when things around them can be helpful to them.

If anything didn't work to achieve some semblance of the desired result of improving one's own condition and desires in life, it wouldn't happen. Over time the process is refined to get the absolute most out of life... ie Die with the most toys.

Not so. People nip and bite when they are hurt, or in pain. Pleased, when they are well fed and cared for. In about 8 years you will experience "The Change", "Midlife Crisis", "The Quickening".... Usually happens in the mid-late thirties. Ever wonder why there are minimum ages for certain positions in govn't? In ten years, you'll remember this moment vividly.

Moral collapse. Toughie. To get back to the original question... Older people than one's self have had to grow through what those younger than them will face and have refined what is painful to them and what is helpful. Windows 3.11. Would you wish that on anyone? Of course not. It has grown up since then.

So at 27 do you or do you not consider yourself an adult? If the answer is yes why not start by answering these questions yourself 1st and give us your viewpoint? You keep referring to adults as "they" and "in all their wisdom". I guess then at 27 you don't consider your self an adult. Why is that? Insecure, lack of substantial life experience, minimal education, lack of self respect? The only time you allude to being an adult is your 2nd sentence.

What's the story.... You state that the moral collapse of this country started with adults then we (as I consider myself an adult) need to change since we claim to know better. For someone who is 27 I don't hear any answers coming from you.

In your wisdom...what is the answer. Oops, sorry you said that only adults have wisdom; so I guess that lets you off the hook. So I guess you are stuck with letting us ignorant yabbering ADULTS run things while you continue to be a non-adult at the age of 27.

There are a lot of whys in your Question, and yet I don't feel like this is a Question more like a statement.
Yes as older people we know more of somethings, But we do not or most of us realise that we know very little, I know salvation but that does not make me wise to God. I know that the more I know the more I have to find out. Solomon the son of David was the wisest man ever known. He said Listen my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching, We know that Solomon was old when he wrote this, His son must have been near middle age. Read the Proverbs at the beginning. and see where wisdom comes from. People who claim wisdom, May not have any, but we try to teach by example not always by word. Words are a meaning less breath of air unless we do what we teach. I cannot answer your questions with words, Only by example, I pity you if that is the only adults you have ever known, Or that is your perception of the adult world at 27. I know many older people who I would love to be like. and hope later I may be.

It sounds like you have an ax to grind. Are you being punished for something or didn't you get what you wanted? Wise people (older or younger) realize they don't have all the answers and are willing to listen to others sides and opinions. Sounds like you are in transition. Older doesn't mean wiser -just that you survived. Time passes so quickly soon you'll be an "older"too. Learn from the mistakes you've seen them make so you won't repeat them. Good luck to you in the future.

Good point. At some time in life, people usually say I'm going to do right, some don't, because the money is better to do wrong. Ponder that, why are criminals rewarded? Think about nice-ities in jail or prison. As Bernie Mac say, it's punishment, not Funishment. Oh, by the way, if you are in prison, this was not meant to harm or hamper your recovery, reformation, or any attempt to reconcile you with the population. If they would just.............................everything would be allright!

Do you presume to tell us that you don't have more answers than some fifth grader? You've been around more, so you should know more. Same with older people.

Because we hate it when young whipper snappers like you say crap like, "WHy didn't somebody tell me?" When we did and you refused to listen to us because we are "old".
