Legally speaking, of course not. There is no law that requires you to take a pill, tablet, capsule or any other form of medication prescribed by a doctor. What if you had some quake prescribed Percocet or Vicodin for for a simple sprained ankle...would you take such potent narcotics for something that aspirin would suffice?

Now, medically...if not taking the medication is going to make you physically worse or kill you then YES...take the darn pills. And regarding the cost...today many of the major pharmaceutical companies may assist with the cost or provide it free of charge depending on their program guidelines. Ask you doctor or clinic for information on these programs.

When you say slow thyroid, i suppose you're saying you have hypothyroid? You know, you really have to consult a good endocrinologist for that. Dosage really depends on gravity of your condition. The doctor will tell you how much hormone pill you need in a day. And thyroid hormones are very important to your daily organ and glands functions. So, yes you have to take the prescribed dosage daily . Also , it has effect on your metabolism. If you don't get enough hormones, your metabolism will slow down, you'll get fat!! => Consult your endoc now.

Yes, if you don't your thyroid levels could get worse. See if you can get a generic levothyroxine. Your doctor can give you help like a discount card. Good luck!!!

Yes, that's why the doctor prescribed it. You can have other health problems if you don't take them. Check it out on one of the Search engines.
