Is it for filling space? I have always wondered and maybe now I'll find out. :)

They are to note page numbers and your thoughts as you read. The notes are nice to have for discussion when you are in a book club.

they are left for notes by the reader also the books are used in the library so where else will the librarian mark the pull out and due date???hahaha ther are many uses though like for the paperback edition the blank page is a back up in case the cover tears the last page shouldnot be lost too... hope you get whay i am saying..hehehe

for notes about the book, or if u dont have a bookmark u can just write down the page u last read
