If you are talking about bulk mail on Yahoo, here is what you can do. Go to the "Mail Options" section of your account. There will be a section about how to handle bulk mail...it's like a filter or something. It will automatically find spam mails and stuff like that and consider it "bulk" mail. From there, you can just delete all of these messages at once without ever having to read them. :)

For the most part Bulk Mail is going to be junk mail and SPAM. However, there may be times when mail that you actually want gets sent to your Bulk Mail folder. You should check your Bulk Mail folder every once in a while to verify this is not happening before deleting all that mail.

Generally, I will go wait a few days (unless I am expecting a mail and have not received it in my Inbox) to check my Bulk Mail. First thing I do is check the "Select All" box. Then, I will look at both the From Address and the Subject of each mail as I go down the list. If I see one that is suspect or that I might be interested in, I uncheck the box and continue on. I get to the end of the list and click Delete Selected. I then go through the ones I kept and look at them. If they are keepers I move them to my Inbox, if not POOF, back to Bulk Mail Hell.

I found that using this technique, instead of opening each email in the Bulk Mail folder actually saves time. Also, many emails now have "Auto-Reply when Read" tags on them. As soon as you open the mail an email is sent to the sender letting them know that the address is active. Now more mail will come. In yet other emails, there may be scripting that causes your PC to gather information without your knowledge and send it back to the sender, or it may do other things like deleting files or changing settings on your system without your knowledge. Luckily, many online email servers like Hotmail and Yahoo disable links, scripts and pictures unless you specifically allow them with emails in your Bulk Mail folder. Outlook does not always do this. You have to set Outlook to not automatically display a Preview of emails to stop this from happening.

In general, Open as few mails as you can in the Bulk Mail folder and you will save yourself some time and headaches.

Do exactly what the person told you. Just delete it all. There's no special way to "handle it".
