Ibuprofen Drowsy

It doesn't make you drowsy. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, one of the family of 'non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs' (NSAIDS) along with aspirin, naproxen and acetaminophen (Tylenol). The thing about inflammation is that it grows on itself. Once you get sore, your muscles swell and squeeze nerves and that makes them sorer. So if you take ibuprofen early enough you need lots less. This is good because there are some side effects. Some people get an upset stomach from ibuprofen. But even if you don't, taking a lot of it for a long time can damage your liver. (Your liver has to clear it out of your blood, so it puts extra strain on the liver). So it would be okay to take it for a while, just enough as needed. Take it before your session or halfway through. But in a few days your muscles should be more used to the practice and you shouldn't need it except once in a while. Have a good season! I sure hope my team does (the bums!)

Absolutely. If you are taking prescription ibuprofen in the 600 or 800mg form it can definitely make you drowsy. Its not the same kind of drowsy as if you had taken a narcotic analgesic, but drowsiness is definitely a side effect. If you are taking OTC ibuprofen, drowsiness is less likely but still possible. Everybody's system reacts differently to drugs. Ibuprofen doesnt really give me nausea or stomach aches but it does make me drowsy. So just be aware of how it affects you personally and prepare accordingly.

Ibeuprofen is an Anti Inflamatory drug and belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs category all the drugs in this group reduce inflammation caused by the body's own immune system, and are effective pain killers.

Ibuprofen can be used to relieve pain such as muscular aches and pains, rheumatic pain period pains, headache, backache, dental pain and neuralgia. It can also be used reduce feverishness and the symptoms of colds and flu.

Ibuprofen shouldn't make you drowsy (I use if for back pains and has never made me drowsy). It has been linked to damage of both the Kidneys and the Liver if used for a long period of time (especially if used with diuretics or ACE inhibitors)

It can give you a bad stomache ache/ nausea if taken on an empty stomache (definitely not advised!)

does ibuprofen make you drowsy?

It shouldn't.

Ibuprofen is an NSAID (Non steroidal Anti-Inflamitary Drug). It causes no drowsiness, blocks pain, lowers fever, and IIRC is a mild muscle relaxant as well.

It's also extreemly hard to OD on. The only major sideeffect being gastric reflux if taken on an empty stomach (The gastric reflux can cause an ulcer over time if you're not careful & use too much for too long).

Ibuprofen makes me nauseated, and I ve always gotten drowsy when I m nauseated. Be careful. That could be a signal that it s too acidic for your stomach, which could lead to stomach bleeding, ulcers, or worse. Best to use a medication that does not cause such side effects.

Never heard of that. It is an anti-inflammatory and to a lesser extent, an antipyretic (fever reducer). The most common side effect is stomach upset. The risk can be reduced by taking it with food.

It doesn't make me drowsy, but if my pain is taken away, I do relax more and thus might get sleepy.
