Well, run AVG antivirus from Grisoft, Ad-Aware from Lavasoft, Spy-bot Search and Destroy from downloads.com, and Windows Defender from Microsoft. All are free and do a good job. After you update and run these, do a "Defrag" by ticking on "My Computer" then right tic on your C:\ drive and select "properties" then tic the "tools" tab and tic on the "Defragmentation" button. When all this is done, see if the computer runs a little faster for you. If it still isn't fast enough, consider more memory. It is the easiest upgrade that you can do to a computer. Just make sure that you get the proper memory for your computer. Visit Crucial.com and use their tool to find the right memory for your computer. Then buy it from newegg.com or tigerdirect.com. Stick with brand name memory, like Kingston, or Corsair. They both warranty their memory for life.

Well, if you're adding memory, you'll HAVE to use "one of those plug memory cards." Hard drives refer to storage, not memory.

For more storage I'd install an internal hard drive. For more memory install more RAM.
