corrupt politicians get elected because we do not assert our civil rights properly. we do not cast vote, we do not check the antecedents of the candidates. to avoid all this we need to be aware of our rights as citizens of a country & be active in our duties as a citizen. just being educated doesn't help we need to fully utilise the education we have got!

My opinion of elections: it's just an act to make the citizens feel like they have a voice. But in reality a corrupt politician is just that corrupt and where there is corruption nothing good comes from it!

giving up is a defeatist attitude which does not change the situation. What is required is to motivate good people to enter politics. If good people like you insist on remaining away from politics what right do you have to curse the system. If good people only critisize and wail without making efforts to bring about changs, they are hyppocrites and need to be blamed more than the corrupt politicians.

Are only politicians corrupt? What about common citizens? Don't people bribe and leak examination papers to get qualifying marks and then to get good jobs??? And, when was any Government anywhere anytime not corrupt? Try and find peace in that we are living in less troublesome era and not when women would have been dragged, men gagged, officials fagged, and worst, you couldn't have bragged that politicians are corrupt!
I, too, don't like it, but such thoughts are my only solace!

The majority of Indian voters are blind folded and have lost all their senses to the dogs. these f**ing lot loves to live like animals than to live as human beings without having any self respect, which can be sold and bought for pennies! That is the simple reason that the murderers, criminals and gang lords are becoming politicians! and get political support!

Elections have gradually become an intergal part of our economy (imagine how all these mass media would have grown without cashing on the political cesspool !) ...

We rarely believe what all the TV commercials say - right ! But we usually buy one of those brands when we go to shop !! It's almost the same with electing our MP, MLA or Councillor - we trust none of them but elect one !!!

its our fault. Bcz we choose them. usually most of the people do not realise to whom they should vote. India is a democratic country, people have the rights to part in general election, but in our Constitution, there is no such law which can defind the eligibility of the candidate. that is the reason that illiterate person stands for election & win also.

Its becoz we hope they will change. Hope is the quintessial medicine for all human miseries. Lose it and u lose life itself. I hope that we will come out of our cozy, lazy lives and participate more in the running of the country, i hope we will have better sense to elect better people and turn it around and that is what makes me tick every day.
