hemorrhaging

Hemorraging is an uncontrolled, massive blood flow. It can be internal, or interal going external (such as a nosebleed that won't stop).
There are several reasons that it happens. If you are taking blood thinners, your blood is unable to clot and seal the wound. Sometimes, women giving birth can rip their uterus (rare), and effectively bleed to death.
Sometimes, it occurs because of a fall. For example, a person falls off of their bike onto some rocks, and their bones rub together and nick an artery.
There are no cures for hemorraging, as it is NOT a disease. It can be secondary to a disease, but it is not one itself.
Some symptoms are bruises that won't go away, a distended abdomen, or blood flow that won't stop.
Side effects are dizziness, light-headedness (not the same as dizziness), shortness of breath, increased heart rate, low blood pressure, death.

When reading the possible side effects on the enclosed leaflet of customer information I do wonder whether or not the problems that may stem from taking it will outweigh the benefit. We know it is a sort of disclaimer like "Take at your own risk" even though doc says it's ok as it not clashing with anything else you take. One day in the future drugs will be taylor made for your blood group and other health indicators, not just the current treatable condition. Only then will we feel well, really well again. Most things are tested thoroughly but nothing yet suits everyone, and as we know ourselves best and have an idea when something is actually making us feel worse than before. If there is a more natural alternative I will find it. That is not to say natural is always safe as some of the prescription drugs are just that - natural and need carefully dosage. As a sensitive to most tablets I will have to think twice about paracetamol. Aspirin is ok for me. Ibuprofen is a disaster and I was really ill from it. Research of course continues as to the effectiveness of a drug and its use. New super improved versions of a drug replace already good selling ones probably from a commercial point of view. If it works etc... why change ?

My husband hemorrhaged to death within 15 minutes after major heart surgery. In other words, we lost him on the table 'cos he bled to death.

It's an uncontrolled bleeding with a substantial amount of blood involved. The flow can be stopped, but unfortunately for us, his wasn't... His was caused because they didn't find an aneurysm (in his chest wall) in time.

Symptoms? In his case, none. Not enough time to have any. It can be caused like what he had gone through, a severed limb, a birth gone awry, etc. Why do you ask?

I agree with the EMT Chick. She has explained hemorrhage (note spelling) and answered all your questions very well.
