i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Actually I am very sad that Steve Irwin died. At first I didn't believe that he was actually dead. I thought that perhaps this was like the Jaleel White (known for playing Urkel on Family Matters) suicide rumor. There are lots of rumors that go around the Internet. You don't really give them any notice until you see it on the news.

True, you could say he had it coming for a long time. He's evaded death so many times. In reflection on that he became quite iconic because of it. Down to earth guy who loved to wrestle crocs, appreciated nature and all things in it.

What strikes a cord here is that the manner of his death. No one would have expected something like that. If someone said that he died at the hands of fifteen crocs while trying to save a baby. I wouldn't have doubted that. It was just the type of guy Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter" was.

its always very sad when a human being dies, i only hope he is with jesus now, i really feel for his wife and children especially since he died a day after fathers day, thats going to be really rough for them as it will be for a while, y r ppl so mean towards him yet if the president died every1 would be crying like babies, when the president kills ppl by sending them to war, yet 1 man trying to save the wildlife wouldn't hurt a soul and yet some ppl can be so brutal. how would u feel if it were your father or husband or wife or some1 just as close to u, u wouldn't appreciate the remarks and saying they had it coming even if lets say they were driving drunk, think about it, its all very cruel and in the end every1 will get what they deserve, but whether u loved him or hated him he left his mark because u knew who he was and what he stood for, so he did what he wanted to do with his life and his untimely death

Yes, I am saddened and feel for his children I lost my mother when I was 12 years old from ovarian cancer and lost my father when I was 18 years old the weekend before I started my senior year in high school because he fell asleep behind the wheel and got hit by a tow truck. I have been there and it feels really bad for a long time and do not need people telling them he had it coming.

actual,he wasn't on his trip.He grew to become into filming for his lates action picture.this is on the subject of the deadliest creatures of deep blue ocean. besides, that doesn't relatively matter quantity.i'm very unhappy he died, because of the fact of his toddlers (he has 2 childrens, one grew to become into born in 2003 ,and the older one in 1998,they're very youthful).i'm so sorry his childrens will improve up without him.for his or her mom,i'm unhappy too. And he wasn't even previous,40 4 years. He could have lived yet another 40 4,yet that's how faith wanted to happen. i'm particularly sorry that planet lost this variety of super individual,he enjoyed nature and animals and he confirmed human beings the thank you to love them too. relax in peace,Stewe Irwin

NO! I don't know how exploiting animals and terrorizing them to the point that they feel a need to defend themselves just for entertainment and income could ever be considered noble or wise. There has never been anything that fool ever did that couldn't be learned just by reading a book. To risk his life when he has small children to care for is crazy, but I'm guessing that really wasn't something he gave a damn about considering the idiot dangled his own baby over a crocodile. I've always found him disgusting and him last few moments in this world prove my opinion of him to be true!

well not sad but shocking...i think we all knew that maybe he'll get his arm/leg bitten off half of his face eaten of...but death???...never thought it would happen to him so soon...i mean he just had a baby a while ago..plus a cute lil daughter...and wife...the way he go about his business seems like he can sense an animal so easily..he took so many risks like hes a pro....so its sad that he died by not a snake, not a croc, not an alligator but a stingray...damn

Yes, because he truly "walked the walk" and put his money, time and energy into protecting nature and educating people.
He could be a real idiot sometimes, like when he fed an alligator while holding his baby (I cannot believe his wife permitted that!), but overall he was a very decent human being.

I am sad.

I thought he would live forever.

I am sad for his wife and children.

"he had it comin''.. well, we all do, I'll agree that he tempted fate more than others.

He died as he lived.

RIP Steve and condolances to the family.
