I upgraded my VGA card from Sparkle 32mb to AXLE FX5500 128mb card with my AMD Athlon 800Mhz CPU and Windows XP operating system. Upon installation, there was a window advising incompatibility and asked if to continue anyway. When I proceeded, while playing games requiring 128mb VGA card, the display image is blinking.

If your CPU is really only 800Mhz then you could well be asking it to do too much, also I suspect that you AGP video slot may only be an 1x or 2x. You can check the settings (usually) in the BIOS settings or look up your motherboard. You also didn't say how much RAM you have, you could also check your monitors refresh rate via the Nvidia settings.
